Borussia Dortmund will be looking to extend their unbeaten start to their Bundesliga season when they host Union Berlin at the Westfalenstadion on Saturday afternoon, with the visitors on a four game losing streak in the Bundesliga.
Edin Terzić will be forced into making one change after Ramy Bensebaini was sent off in last week’s win against Hoffenheim. Marius Wolf is expected to replace the Algerian, which would see Julian Ryerson switch to left-back. Mats Hummels could also be given a rest after an extended run in the team with Niklas Süle partnering Nico Schlotterbeck.
Kicker suggest that Terzić won’t make any attacking changes to the team that drew against Milan in midweek. Salih Özcan and Emre Can are expected to start in a double-pivot while Marco Reus will retain his place in the squad alongside Julian Brandt, who leads the Bundesliga in assists, and Donyell Malen.
Niclas Füllkrug should again get the nod ahead of Sébastien Haller, who is still looking for his first Bundesliga goal of the season after 299 minutes.
Other than Bensebaini’s absence, there’s no further team news. Felix Nmecha, Gio Reyna, Karim Adeyemi and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens remain options from the bench.
Predicted Borussia Dortmund XI vs Union Berlin
Gregor Kobel – Marius Wolf, Niklas Süle, Nico Schlotterbeck, Julian Ryerson – Salih Özcan, Emre Can – Donyell Malen, Marco Reus, Julian Brandt – Niclas Füllkrug.
