Predicted Bayern Munich XI vs Cologne

Bayern Munich must beat Cologne if they are to stand any chance of retaining the Bundesliga title.

Speaking to media ahead of today’s game, Thomas Tuchel confirmed that despite returning to training, Alphonso Davies wouldn’t make the squad. Lucas Hernandez, Manuel Neuer and Paul Wanner are also sidelined.

Bayern Munich do though have Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting available. The Cameroonian forward, who has 10 goals in 18 games, hasn’t played in the Bundesliga since April 4. However, he’s only likely to have a place on the bench after Thomas Müller worked his way back into the squad, while Serge Gnabry has re-found his form.

Tuchel is expected to name the same lineup that started against RB Leipzig, a game that Bayern Munich went on to lose 3-1 despite Gnabry putting the Rekordmeister in the lead.

Bayern Munich know they have a difficult game against Cologne, who themselves have a financial incentive to get a result against Bayern as should Borussia Dortmund win the Bundesliga, they will receive a six-figure fee as this was inserted into Anthony Modeste’s contract when he joined BVB last summer.

Predicted Bayern Munich XI vs Cologne

Yann Sommer – Noussair Mazraoui, Benjamin Pavard, Matthijs de Ligt, Joao Cancelo – Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka – Kingsley Coman, Jamal Musiala, Serge Gnabry – Thomas Müller.
