Ondrej Duda set for Hellas Verona medical ahead of move from FC Köln

FC Köln’s Ondrej Duda is set for a medical at Serie A side Hellas Verona, Bild cites Italian media.

The Slovakian international was present at Köln’s training ground Monday afternoon but will not travel with the side to Bayern Munich for Tuesday’s match. Instead, the playmaker is reportedly heading to Italy to complete a fast move to Verona.

As per reports, Duda is expected to arrive on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season for €2.5m. A return back to Köln in the summer is highly unlikely. Duda is one of Köln’s highest earners and has been considered a property sale by sporting director Christian Keller.

Duda has had his ups and downs under Steffen Baumgart but never really showed his full potential. Last season, Duda was expelled from training and sent to train alone after falling out with management. However, Duda was later reintroduced into the squad.
