Official | Bayer Leverkusen sign Belgian talent Noah Mbamba

Bayer Leverkusen have today announced the signing of 18-year-old Belgian youth international Noah Mbamba from Club Brugge on a long-term contract until 2028.

“Noah Mbamba is one of the greatest talents in his position as a defensive-midfielder. He has excellent technique, is tall and fast,” said Simon Rolfes. “If he develops further, he and his class will play an important role in the future.”

B04 paid Club Brugge a reported €100k for Mbamba, who had a contract with the Belgian side until the end of the season. During his time at the club, the midfielder, who can also play in central-defence, played 25 games across all competitions, and has also played 55 minutes of Champions League football.

Bayer Leverkusen moved quick to secure the signing of Mbamba, who also had interest from several European clubs. Since Alfred Schreuder left for Ajax, the Belgian youth international struggled for minutes this season, and showed no interest in signing an extension.

Mbamba’s move to Bayer Leverkusen comes following the uncertain future of Charles Aranguiz, who is currently injured, but is also expected to leave the club at the end of the season.

Bayer Leverkusen resume their Bundesliga campaign against Borussia Mönchengladbach on January 22.
