Niclas Füllkrug wants to leave Werder Bremen in the summer

As reported by Sky Germany, Niclas Füllkrug wants to leave Werder Bremen in the summer, this comes after the 29 year old switched agents earlier on in the week.

Bremen are aware of Füllkrug’s desire to switch clubs and a transfer in the winter is not entirely ruled out but it is unlikely. The striker has clear expectations of the club that he would like to join and would cost between €15-20 million. Füllkrug currently has interest from Germany, Italy and England.

This season Fülkrug is the highest-scoring German in the Bundesliga with 10 goals in 14 games. He was vital in Bremen’s promotion last season and formed a partnership with Marvin Ducksch.

Füllkrug’s form earned him an unlikely call-up for the Germany World Cup squad. He was Germany’s top scorer with goals against Spain and Costa Rica.

Bremen are currently ninth in the Bundesliga, they ended the year losing to both Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig. They restart their season against 1.FC Köln on the 21st January.
