Newcastle United make approach for Youssoufa Moukoko

As reported via Sport1, Newcastle United have made a verbal approach for Youssoufa Moukoko with the 18-year-old’s contract set to expire in the summer.

Per Sport1’s Patrick Berger, Newcastle’s offer for Moukoko was a €9m salary and on top of that a €30m signing fee. However, Moukoko wishes to stay with Borussia Dortmund and reported meetings between the two parties will continue so they can find a solution to the contract saga.

The striker’s contract expires in the summer and has had interest from a host of different clubs but still remains in talks with Dortmund over his contract.

This season has been Moukoko’s breakout season for Dortmund as he has ousted Anthony Modeste as Dortmund’s number nine whilst also breaking into Germany’s World Cup squad.

Dortmund are currently in Marbella for their winter training camp. They start the year against Augsburg on the January 22.

Moukoko has scored six and created four in 10 Bundesliga games for BVB this season.
