Youssoufa Moukoko and Borussia Dortmund to hold further contract talks this week

According to Sport1, Youssoufa Moukoko and Borussia Dortmund will hold talks this week over the player’s contract, with the 18-year-old now free to speak to other clubs.

Moukoko has previously rejected an offer for Dortmund that was in the region of a €3m salary plus bonuses. Dortmund reportedly now has a counter-offer for Moukoko. Talks with his agents will resume in Marbella and could be finalised, if possible.

The striker has attracted interest from the likes of Chelsea and Barcelona and as of January 1, he has been able to speak to clubs regarding his future.

Moukoko has experienced a breakout in the latter part of the year. Filling in for Sébastien Haller, the 18-year-old has scored six goals and assisted three in his 14 matches in the league. His form not only displaced emergency signing Anthony Modeste, but Moukoko also earned a call-up to the German national team for the World Cup making a brief appearance against Japan.

Dortmund travelled to Marbella on Friday for a week-long winter training camp. There they will play a friendly against Fortuna Düsseldorf, before returning to Germany and playing another friendly against Basel. They restart their Bundesliga against Augsburg on January 22.
