Naby Keita to leave Liverpool this summer

Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita will leave the Premier League side this summer when his contract expires, as reported by Sky Germany

Since joining Jürgen Klopp’s side from RB Leipzig in 2018 for €60m, Keita has struggled for playing time mainly due to reoccurring injury problems.

The Guinean international will therefore not extend his contract and leave on a free transfer this summer. It still remains unclear as to where Keita’s next move will be but a return to the Bundesliga could be likely.

As reported by SportBild in September last year, Keita was being monitored by Borussia Dortmund. This may allow the 27-year-old to play a more crucial role and get back to playing regular football as he once did in Saxony.

During his time with RB Leipzig, Keita played 71 competitive matches and scored 17 goals. Should BVB sign him and get a similar return, it will prove a brilliant free signing.
