Kicker reports that Mergim Berisha wants to leave Augsburg this summer as the striker would like to take the next step in his career.
Augsburg recently activated the buy option in Berisha’s loan agreement with Fenerbahce worth €4m. After discussions with the management at Augsburg, the 25-year-old has made it clear that he wishes to take the next step in his career this summer.
At the moment, Augsburg have yet to receive any offers for Berisha and the striker is expected to be at training when pre-season begins on Thursday. According to transfermarkt, the 25-year-old is currently valued at €12m.
Last season, Berisha was Augsburg’s stand-out player scoring nine goals and assisting four in 23 games. His form earned him a call-up to the German national team in March but an ankle injury in April derailed his season and he struggled to find form afterwards.
