Markus Krösche a target for Liverpool’s sporting director role

Eintracht Frankfurt’s Markus Krösche has emerged as a candidate for Liverpool’s vacant sporting director role reports The Athletic

Liverpool are looking for a sporting director after it was announced that Julian Ward would leave at the end of the season. Another candidate for Liverpool is AS Monaco’s Paul Mitchell.

Sport1 are reporting that there has been no contact between Krösche and Liverpool. The 42-year-old is happy with his current situation in Frankfurt.

During his two years at Frankfurt, Krösche has made an impression for his work in turning Frankfurt around and helping them win the Europa League. The 42-year-old currently has a contract until 2025 after joining Frankfurt from RB Leipzig in 2021.

Krösche has been involved in the signings of Randal Kolo Muani from Nantes on a free transfer and Jesper Lindstrøm for €7m from Brøndby who have both showcased their abilities at Frankfurt and are now being scouted by some of the biggest clubs in Europe.

Frankfurt are currently sixth in the Bundesliga and in the Champions League round of 16 where they face Napoli.
