Manchester United working on an agreement to sign Bayern Munich’s Benjamin Pavard

Manchester United are working on an agreement to sign Bayern Munich’s Benjamin Pavard.

As reported by Florian Plettenberg, concrete talks between Manchester United and French international Pavard are ongoing at this stage. With Harry Maguire’s imminent move to West Ham, Erik ten Hag is pushing to sign Pavard, who wants to leave the Rekordmeister this month.

This is also backed up by both Kerry Hau and Philipp Kessler, who are both extremely reputable when it comes to Bayern Munich news. Hau further reports that those at Bayern would like Pavard to remain at the club, more so after Kyle Walker’s decision to stay at Manchester City, but that the player wants a new challenge in another top league.

Bayern Munich value Pavard given his ability to play in a variety of roles but as reported back in May, the Frenchman won’t extend his deal beyond 2024. Meaning that the Bavarian outfit would need to sell Pavard this summer, or risk losing the defender on a free transfer next year.
