Bayern Munich to relinquish interest in Manchester City’s Kyle Walker

As reported by Florian Plettenberg, Bayern Munich consider a move for Manchester City’s Kyle Walker to be over.

The reigning European champions have become increasingly unwilling to negotiate with the Rekordmeister regarding the transfer of the defender. The Citizens are now going all out to ensure that Walker remains at the club next season with Pep Guardiola keen to keep hold of one of his key figures.

Despite making an agreement with Bayern that he would join the German champions, Walker could have had a change of heart. This is due to the understanding that Manchester City have offered a new and improved deal to the 33-year-old.

Nevertheless, Bayern are yet to receive information from the defenders’ management that he has turned down the Rekordmeister. However, those at the Säbener Straße do not believe that they will acquire the England international this summer.

As suggested by Kicker, if Walker signs an extended deal with Guardiola’s side, then Bayern will not look for other alternatives. With the likes of Benjamin Pavard, Josip Stanisic and Noussair Mazraoui still under contract, there is little need to add further depth to the position.
