Manchester City close to agreeing terms with RB Leipzig’s Joško Gvardiol

As per Philipp Hinze, Manchester City are close to agreeing personal terms with RB Leipzig starlet Joško Gvardiol with an official offer soon to follow.

The Croatian international has been in talks with the Premier League champions and appears close to agreeing terms with the club. As soon as a full agreement is reached, city are expected to make an official bid in the coming days.

City are expected to offer between €80m-€85m for the 21-year-old. However, it’s believed that the Saxons want closer to €100m plus add-ons for their prized possession.

Regardless, it’s confirmed that there are no other candidates, City are in pole position to get this one over the line.

Gvardiol is contracted with Leipzig until 2027, so in theory, they hold all the cards. However, the pull of the Premier League and higher wages is likely to sway the young Croate. In the past, he has expressed his desire to move to England and play in the top flight.

Leipzig may hold out for a little bit more than City’s supposed offer of €80m-€85m but the likelihood is that Gvardiol will be a City player next season.
