Liverpool will not sign Bayern Munich’s Ryan Gravenberch

As reported by Florian Plettenberg, Liverpool are out of the race to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch.

It is understood that talks between the English side and Gravenberch’s representatives did take place, however, no move for the Bayern man was ultimately made. Instead, Liverpool have identified Southampton’s 19-year-old defensive midfielder Roméo Lavia as a priority transfer target.

As for Bayern, Gravenberch is not seen as unsaleable by those at the Säbener Straße with the Dutchman struggling to break into Thomas Tuchel’s side. With the arrival of Konrad Laimer from RB Leipzig, the chances of the 21-year-old asserting himself into Tuchel’s side next season will only decrease.

Last campaign Gravenberch featured 33 times for Die Rekordmeister, but this would only see the midfielder pick up slightly over 900 minutes as he played a bit-part role in Bayern’s title campaign. His only goal contributions would arrive in the DFB-Pokal where he would score one goal and collect a single assist.

While Bayern may look to offload the Dutchman and fellow midfielder Marcel Sabitzer, this does not mean that the hunt to find a partner for Joshua Kimmich is over. However, the German champions will prioritise bringing in a number nine this summer, with the pursuit of Harry Kane ongoing.
