Brenden Aaronson set for loan move to Union Berlin from Leeds United

Brenden Aaronson is set to join Union Berlin on loan from Leeds United, according to Florian Plettenberg.

The United States international will sign for the Irons on a year loan without an option to buy. The remaining paperwork is being prepared before the 22-year-old undergoes his medical tests in the German capital.

Aaronson featured heavily for Leeds last season but couldn’t stop them from being relegated from the Premier League. In 36 matches, the attacking midfielder scored once and assisted on three occasions.

After facing criticism for his performances last year, along with a number of Leeds players, moving to the Bundesliga will be a fresh start for Aaronson. What’s more, the American will get the chance to play in the Champions League against some of Europe’s top clubs.

Despite being just 22, it feels as if Aaronson has something to prove due to his disappointing performances in the Premier League. Union will be the ideal place to do just that.
