Liverpool and Manchester United will go head-to-head for Ryan Gravenberch

As reported by Florian Plettenberg, Liverpool and Manchester United will go head-to-head in the race to sign Bayern Munich’s Ryan Gravenberch.

Despite only signing for Bayern last summer for an initial €18.5m, the Dutch midfielder’s future with the Rekordmeister has long been questioned. The 21-year-old has cut a frustrated figure in Bavaria due to his lack of minutes, and with the arrival of Konrad Laimer from RB Leipzig, Gravenberch is now considered to be Thomas Tuchel’s fourth choice.

With the former Ajax midfielder on the hunt for regular game time, two Premier League sides have expressed their interest in signing Gravenberch. Liverpool’s admiration for the midfielder is well-understood, however, they now face competition from rivals Manchester United.

Nevertheless, both sides are waiting for the record champions to give the green light before they make a move. With United and Liverpool looking to add quality to their depleting midfield options, Gravenberch, who received 70% less game time last season than he did in his final campaign at Ajax, would undoubtedly find himself better utilised in England.

However, Bayern are still unsure on whether they are willing to let go of their promising midfielder. Die Rekordmiester have not ruled out the possibility of the 21-year-old leaving and they could wait until deadline day to make their decision.
