Joshua Kimmich vows to stay at Bayern Munich

As reported by Sky Germany, Joshua Kimmich has no intention of leaving Bayern Munch this summer.

Despite considerable speculation regarding the future of the Bayern and Germany international, Kimmich looks set to stay in Bavaria. Bayern head coach Thomas Tuchel had previously suggested that if he was to lose his boisterous midfielder that it would be: “A big surprise.”

However, there had previously been murmurs that the record champions would consider selling Kimmich if an acceptable offer had been made. This led to Spanish champions Barcelona showing serious interest in the 28-year-old, but no approach for the midfielder was ultimately made.

Nevertheless, Kimmich has now all but ruled out the possibility of him moving on this summer after a comment the midfielder made to the media. Responding to the comments made by Tuchel, Kimmich would confirm: “I’m very sure that I’ll play for FC Bayern in the new season.”

After failing in their attempt to find a midfield partner for the 28-year-old – with Declan Rice choosing Arsenal over the German champions – Kimmich now looks set to stay in Munich where he will more than likely star next to Austrian international Konrad Laimer. Leon Goretzka has made his intentions of fighting for his place in the side clear, and the departure of Marcel Sabitzer certainly narrows down the competition he will face to earn minutes in the Bayern midfield.
