Sky Germany reports that João Cancelo is open to staying at Bayern Munich, with talks already open between him and Bayern, but no decision has been made yet.
In the agreement of Cancelo’s loan from Manchester City, there is a €70 million buy option but Bayern are adamant that they will not pay that fee. If they wish to keep Cancelo they will negotiate a new fee with City.
Barcelona are also currently interested in Cancelo as they look for a new right-back.
During his first two months in Munich, Cancelo has struggled under Julian Nagelsmann, but everyone at Bayern believes that he has more potential than what he has shown so far at the club.
Since his move from City, Cancelo has played 10 games for Bayern but has struggled to either start in important games due to his lack of defending such as against PSG or he has often been substituted off before the end of the game, most notably against Bayer Leverkusen where he was replaced at half-time by Josip Stanišić.
