Injury blow for RB Leipzig as Dani Olmo sidelined for several weeks

RB Leipzig have confirmed that Dani Olmo will miss the next few weeks through injury.

Olmo had to be replaced just seven minutes after coming on as a substitute in Leipzig’s 6-0 win over Köln at the weekend when he gained a shoulder injury.

The Spaniard suffered an acromioclavicular joint separation, however medical scans on Sunday showed that there wasn’t any fractures.

Olmo faces yet another setback having only recently recovered from a knee injury in which he was out for over five weeks since September 9th.

The 25-year-old was set to start for the first time since his first injury on Tuesday in the DFB Pokal against Wolfsburg however it now looks like that may may have to wait until the new year to play football for Leipzig again.

It is still unclear whether Olmo will have to undergo surgery as the Leipzig doctors want to gain a second opinion before making any decisions.
