Incredible stat showcases Leroy Sané’s improvement

One of Bayern Munich’s most improved players over the last 18 months is Leroy Sané, and the following stat showcases the German’s improvement.

According to Opta, Sané has converted 100 percent of his big chances in the Bundesliga this season (5/5), which is the best rate of all players with at least five big chances in Europe’s top five leagues this season.

The German is ahead of Inter’s Lautaro Martinez (86%), Tottenham’s Heung-Min Son (83%), Almería’s Sergio Arribas (80%) and Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham (71%).

Sané is currently averaging a goal every 105 minutes in the Bundesliga, and has also netted in the Champions League for Bayern Munich this season. The 27-year-old’s best goalscoring tally in the Bundesliga since his return in 2020, is eight goals, and it’s clear that Sané will surpass that this campaign.

Ahead of tomorrow’s game against Copenhagen, Joshua Kimmich praised Sané: “He’s enjoying his football, which spreads to the rest of the team. I hope this will continue for a long time.”

Bayern Munich beat Manchester United 4-3 on the opening matchday of the current Champions League campaign, and the Rekordmeister will look to extend that, with the help of Sané, on Tuesday night.
