Harry Kane continues to break records in the Bundesliga and this weekend was no different.
The Englishman’s 15 goals in his opening 10 Bundesliga games in a new record. This comes after Kane scored a hat-trick against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday evening as the Rekordmeister recorded a resounding 4-0 win in the Klassiker.
It was the response that Bayern Munich needed following their midweek exit from the DFB Pokal against Saarbrücken last week and against Dortmund, Kane and Co. were in complete control.
“We wanted to come out and go full throttle with the pressure and with the ball,” said Kane. “We couldn’t have asked for a better start. Spells in the second half where it was a bit up and down.
“The third goal is always vital, so once we got that, we knew the game was ours. I’m enjoying it, the team enjoyed today, but there’s still a long way to go. So, we look forward to next week now.”
It took Kane just a matter of weeks to break his first Bundesliga record. The international superstar is a player with worldwide reputation, and since his signing fans flocked to stores to buy their Kane shirts.
As reported in August, Bayern Munich sold more than 13,000 jerseys with Kane on the back the day after his signings, a new record. Bayern’s previous record sales was after their 2020 Champions League win against PSG.
Kane is enjoying a tremendous start to his life in Germany. The England international has featured in every Bundesliga game this season, and has only failed to score in two games (Borussia Mönchengladbach and Freiburg). Kane’s hat-trick against Borussia Dortmund is his third hat-trick of the campaign.
