Dino Toppmöller on the verge of becoming Eintracht Frankfurt head coach

Dino Toppmöller is on the verge of becoming Eintracht Frankfurt’s new head coach, according to Florian Plettenberg

Toppmöller and Frankfurt bosses are just closing in on the final contract agreements but it’s expected that the 42-year-old will be announced next week after the DFB Pokal final against RB Leipzig. The final will signal the end of Oliver Glasner’s time as The Eagles’ boss. During his time at the club, Glasner won the Europa League and therefore achieved Champions League football.

Toppmöller was the assistant coach at Bayern Munich under Julian Nagelsmann between 2021-2023. Prior to that, the 42-year-old worked with Nagelsmann at RB Leipzig and independently managed in Luxembourg. His time spent in Luxembourg was the last time Toppmöller was in the head coaching position. The German now has the opportunity to lead a top Bundesliga club going into the 2023/24 season. What’s more, depending on the result of the DFB Pokal final, Toppmöller may have to juggle European football next term.

There was rumours that Bayern Munich coach Xaver Zembrod would join Toppmöller at Bayern, however, that has now been ruled out.
