Manu’s Game of the Week: Schalke vs Hertha Berlin

My game of the week is Schalke vs Hertha, also known as the most one-sided rivalry in German football. For some odd reason, Hertha fans really hate Schalke but if you go to Gelsenkirchen and ask fans there about the rivalry, most will just shrug their shoulders. For Schalke fans, they have other teams to worry about, Dortmund, Bochum, and even Rot-Weiß Essen are higher up on the “must hate” list. What isn’t one-sided is the fear of relegation, the loser of this game is in big trouble and can probably start planning for the 2. Bundesliga season.

Stefan’s Game of the Week: Bayern Munich vs Hoffenheim

My game of the week has to be Bayern Munich v Hoffenheim. Typically this fixture would be a pretty one-sided affair, but Saturday’s clash could be entirely different. Hoffenheim have been on an impressive run of form with three wins in a row and have an opportunity to cause further anguish to a Bayern side that have just had a dreadful week. This game has the potential for fireworks.
