Borussia Dortmund’s Gregor Kobel has declared himself fit ahead of their Bundesliga Topspiel against Bayern Munich on Saturday evening.
The 25-year-old has missed Borussia Dortmund’s last four competitive games with a thigh injury he picked up during a warm-up prior to their win against RB Leipzig – Alexander Meyer replaced the Swiss goalkeeper in the four games.
Speaking to Sky Germany, Kobel said: “I’m definitely fit again.” BVB head coach Edin Terzic now has a decision to make.
Borussia Dortmund lead Bayern Munich by one point after the latter suffered a 2-1 defeat at Bayer Leverkusen. BVB have also won nine of their ten Bundesliga games in 2023, dropping points against Schalke in the Revierderby.
A win against Bayern Munich on Saturday would put Borussia Dortmund in an excellent position to win their first Bundesliga title since 2012, but Terzic and Die Schwarzgelben face a difficult task against Bayern, who replaced Julian Nagelsmann with Thomas Tuchel in a decision that shocked football.
