Benjamin Pavard wants to join Manchester United

Sport Bild report today that Benjamin Pavard has informed Bayern Munich of his wish to join Manchester United this summer as he enters the final year of his contract.

The Frenchman has made it known internally that he wants to leave Bayern Munich, and won’t be extending his contract beyond 2024 at the Rekordmeister. However, after their failed pursuit of Kyle Walker, Bayern Munich don’t want to sell the Frenchman with no replacement.

Talks between Manchester United and Pavard have been ongoing and the Premier League side have also had an opening offer rejected for the 2018 World Champion.

Erik ten Hag has been a long term admirer of Pavard, and wanted to sign the French defender last summer. This year, the Red Devils are ready to pay a fee just under €30m to sign Pavard but should Bayern sell, per the report, they’re looking for a fee between €45m and €50m – too much for Manchester United.
