Bayern Munich hold meeting with West Ham’s Declan Rice

Bild reports that Bayern Munich held a meeting in London last week with Declan Rice and his father who works as his consultant.

The meeting was reportedly 90 minutes long with coach Thomas Tuchel, technical director Marco Neppe and former sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić all present. It was an introductory meeting that went well between the two parties. Rice is open to joining Bayern from West Ham having also previously spoken to Tuchel.

It was previously reported that Bayern have begun to step up their pursuit of Rice as other clubs such as Arsenal show interest in the 24-year-old. Bayern are ready to pay the full amount for the midfielder which could be close to €100m.

The aim with Rice is to partner him with Joshua Kimmich. This move will allow Kimmich to play further forward and make use of his attacking qualities. The future of Leon Goretzka will also be brought into question as under Tuchel he has failed to perform.
