Harry Kane got to know the German culture, wearing Lederhosen and eating Weißwurst (White sausage) for the first time, at Bayern Munich’s Paulaner photo shoot. Speaking to Kicker, the Englishman discussed the Champions League, a competition that he believes the Rekordmeister can win this season.
“There are some great teams in Europe at the moment,” Kane told Kicker. “We need to keep working, keep improving. We got a fantastic team, good enough to win the Champions League but it’s still a long way to go. Of course, the groups get announced next week and then we’ll focus on that and try to perform in every game we play.”
Although losing to RB Leipzig in the DFL Supercup, Kane has enjoyed a good start to his Bayern Munich career with three goals and one assist in four games across all competitions. It took the English forward just four minutes to assist Leroy Sané in the opening game of the season against Werder Bremen before netting himself later that game.
Kane was then awarded his first Bundesliga start at the Allianz Arena on Saturday against Augsburg. He scored from the spot in the 40th minute to double Bayern’s tally before scoring his second with a superb deft finish past Finn Dahmen.
Next up, Bayern face difficult games against Borussia Mönchengladbach and Bayer Leverkusen.
