Bayer Leverkusen interested in Southampton’s Nathan Tella

Kicker reports that Bayer Leverkusen are interested in Southampton forward Nathan Tella as they look to bolster their attacking options.

Leverkusen are looking to add depth to their attacking options after the departure of Moussa Diaby while also adding depth as there were times last season when the lack of attackers hindered the team.

Currently, Leverkusen have Victor Boniface as their recognised striker, while on the wings there is Florian Wirtz, Amine Adli and Jonas Hofmann. However, for the opener against Leipzig, Adli will be suspended.

Southampton’s Tella is an option for Leverkusen. The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at Burnley in the Championship where he scored 17 goals in 39 games while also showing versatility in his ability to not only play on the wing but as a striker meaning he could play back-up to Boniface while Patrik Schick is out injured.

Tella is likely to cost between €15-20m and Leverkusen must face competition from Premier League clubs for the signature of the 25-year-old.
