Augsburg interested in taking Mathys Tel on loan

SportBild reports that Augsburg are interested in taking Bayern Munich striker Mathys Tel on loan next season.

The 18-year-old future depends on Thomas Tuchel. If Tuchel believes Tel needs to gain more game time elsewhere then he will be allowed to leave on loan. If this is possible, Augsburg would be very interested.

In his first season at Bayern, Tel has shown promise in his appearances for the club which have come mostly off of the bench. In 28 games, the 18-year-old was able to score six times.

A loan move could potentially help Tel gain even more experience in the Bundesliga and hone his skills move especially as Bayern are in the market for a recognised senior number nine.

However, Augsburg may not be the right club for Tel to join. Currently, Augsburg have Ermedin Demirovic and Dion Beljo guaranteed to be at the club next season, while the future of Mergim Berisha is unknown with the club potentially looking to sell the striker once they sign him permanently.

It begs the question of whether Tel will actually be able to play in his preferred striker role or if he is pushed out wide.
