Amine Harit to join Marseille on a permanent basis

Schalke’s Amine Harit will join Marseille on a permanent basis in the summer after the Ligue 1 side met the last condition for their obligation to buy the Moroccan.

According to Ruhr Nachrichten, the first clause was that Harit would have to play at least 15 competitive games, this was met in November 2022. The second clause was fulfilled at the weekend. It stated that OM had to finish the 2022/23 season in tenth or higher. The French side are currently second, 22 points clear of 11th with six games remaining.

For Schalke, it’s excellent news. The Bundesliga side wanted to find a permanent club for Harit last summer as the Moroccan was one of their highest earners and with five Bundesliga games remaining, it’s still unclear as to which division S04 will be playing in next season.

Shortly after Harit made his 15th appearance for Marseille, the 25-year-old suffered a cruciate ligament injury and has played just 16 games across all competitions this season.

S04 will receive a reported €5m.
