Alphonso Davies leaning towards a move to Real Madrid

Sport1 reports that Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies is leaning towards a move to Real Madrid next summer.

Davies’ contract at Bayern expires in 2025 and the Bundesliga side does not want to lose the 23-year-old and wants to extend his contract at the club. However, talks between the two parties have been on hold for several months.

The Canadian’s representatives have been in contact with Real Madrid for a while as the Spanish giants want a new left-back as well as a new striker next summer and Davies is Real first option in the left-back position. At the same time, former Bayern defender David Alaba has been campaigning for Real to try and sign Davies to fill the left-back void.

As things currently stand, Davies favours a move to Real next summer. It is clear why Davies would leave Bayern as he has won everything there is possible to win.

A move to Spain would open new challenges to the 23-year-old whilst also being allowed to join a group of highly talented players at Real who will be stalwarts of the team for years to come in Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Junior, Eduardo Camavinga and Aurélien Tchouaméni.
