Wolves’ opening €15m bid for Saša Kalajdžić short of valuation

Wolves’ opening €15m bid for Saša Kalajdžić (25) has fallen short of Stuttgart’s valuation of the Austrian forward, according to Bild.

There’s currently a €10m difference in valuation. VfB want a reported €25m including bonuses for Kalajdžić, who has entered the final year of his contract at the Bundesliga side.

As of now, there are three options for Kalajdžić. Leave Stuttgart for €25m, sign a contract extension beyond 2023 or remain at the club but not extend his current deal.

The latter seems the unlikeliest. Per the report, Kalajdžić has internally announced on several occasions that he won’t leave Stuttgart on a free transfer. So the Bundesliga club should at least collect a transfer fee for the Austria international.

Speaking on Monday, VfB Sporting Director Sven Mislintat has also confirmed interest from Wolves in Kalajdžić, who has created three in three games for Stuttgart this season.

Should Kalajdžić leave this summer, Stuttgart have identified Bayern Munich’s Joshua Zirkzee as a replacement.
