VfB Stuttgart’s Wataru Endo is fit for the World Cup

VfB Stuttgart and Japanese international Wataru Endo has overcome a concussion last week and is available to play in the upcoming World Cup, according to Kicker.

The Stuttgart captain was in danger of not being fit to play following the injury sustained last week. However, following tests, Endo has been given the all-clear by doctors and can prepare with his countryman for the tournament in Qatar.

Due to the nature of this year’s World Cup, what could be considered a minor injury could exclude a player from the entire competition. Thankfully in the case of Endo, he will get the chance to represent Japan this winter. Japan are in a tough Group E consisting of Germany, Spain, and Costa Rica.

Their World Cup kicks off against Germany on Wednesday 23rd November. Japan will be familiar with many of the German players as 8 of their 23-man squad play their domestic football in Germany.
