USA international Joe Scally: “I hope I can be at the World Cup.”

Borussia Mönchengladbach and USA international Joe Scally wants to play as much as possible in order to improve his chances of going to the World Cup.

Speaking to Kicker about his goals for the 2022/23 season, Scally said: “With Borussia, to finish higher up the table. To come on and play from the start as often as possible. I hope that I can be at the World Cup.”

Looking back on his performances last season, the 19-year-old added: “I played more than I expected. It was a really good season for me. I learned a lot. I want to build on that.”

Scally played 30 Bundesliga games last season under Adi Hütter but has to now impress new head coach Daniel Farke.

“I want to show him that I’m hungry, that I’m ready to learn and to help the team. I think my style of play suits the approach that the coach has in mind,” said Scally.
