Speaking in an interview with Kicker, Union Berlin forward Taiwo Awoniyi (24) made is no secret that he has a desire to return to the Premier League one day.
“The Premier League is my dream. Everyone knows that, including here at the club,” said Awoniyi. “If I lived in England, it would be easier for my wife and child. Also my sister and a brother live on the island.”
Awoniyi joined Union on a permanent deal last summer for a reported €7m after impressing during a loan spell from Liverpool. Whether the 24-year-old departs in the summer remains open: “It’s a matter of timing. Now it’s too early to talks about a possible change of club.”
Awoniyi has scored 14 goals and created three in 28 games in all competitions for Union this season.
