Sky Germany report that Erling Haaland’s replacement at Borussia Dortmund will be one of Ajax forward Sébastien Haller or Stade de Reims’ Hugo Ekitike.
This means that the transfers of Adam Hložek (Sparta Prague) and Benjamin Šeško (RB Salzburg) are unlikely.
Haller already has Bundesliga experience having played for Eintracht Frankfurt between 2017 and 2019, scoring 33 and creating 19 in 77 games in all competitions.
The 27-year-old would cost BVB around €30m, which could prove too much given that he wouldn’t have much resale value given his age.
Ekitike would however cost Dortmund significantly less with a reported fee of around €20m. Premier League side Newcastle United have also shown interest in the 19-year-old French striker.
