Sadio Mané motivated after training alongside Bayern Munich teammates for the first time

Sadio Mané trained with his Bayern Munich teammates for the first time on Friday. After the session, the 30-year-old Senegalese forward gave his first impressions.

“It was really good,” Mané told the club’s official website. “I enjoyed it and the other boys enjoyed it too. I’m very happy to be here. Today was our first day together and I’m very excited to start the season.”

Friday’s session was the first time he trained alongside players such as Alphonso Davies. “I’d already met them as an opponent. Now we’re teammates and I’m glad to be able to get to know the boys.

“Some of them are only coming in the next few days – I’m looking forward to meeting them too and starting pre-season with them.”

As is tradition, Mané will sing an initiation song in front of his new team. The Senegal international added: “I don’t have a particular song yet but I have a few in my repertoire. I’ll go home and think about it and choose the best one, so that I can be a big singer in front of the boys.”

Bayern’s new signing is no stranger to Munich. The former Liverpool man used to visit regularlary during his time at RB Salzburg: “The people are very respectful and nice.

“This really impressed me and is important for me. The people have welcomed me, especially here in the club, which has given me extra motivation.”
