Speaking ahead of Bayer Leverkusen’s Europa League tie against Atalanta on Thursday, B04 Managing Director Rudi Völler was impressed by the performance of the Serie A side against Roma and drew similarities between the two clubs.
“They are good,” said Völler. “You can see that Atalanta is an absolute top team. It’s no coincidence that they’ve been at the front for years. They play attractive football, always going forward and being aggressive.”
It’s an important time in Bayer’s season, they face Atalanta in Italy on Thursday before playing a derby against FC Köln on Sunday before the return fixture in the Europa League: “With the derby, it will be 10 exhausting days,” said Völler.
