CAS to hear RB Leipzig vs Leeds United case over Jean-Kevin Augustin next week

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has announced the hearing date of RB Leipzig vs Leeds United over the transfer of Jean-Kevin Augustin will take place on Tuesday 15 March.

As reported by Kicker, the legal dispute is essentially whether Premier League side Leeds United have to pay RB Leipzig a transfer fee after signing the Frenchman on loan with an obligation to buy for €21m should they be promoted to the top flight.

However, because the Premier League season finished beyond June 30th due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Leeds United declared the agreement as null and avoid. It’s worth noting that FIFA agree with RB Leipzig in this case, which Leeds United then contacted CAS.

Augustin, 24, has since returned to France and is playing his football for Nantes.
