Roger Wittmann discusses Julian Draxler’s future

Speaking to Bild, Roger Wittmann spoke about the future of Julian Draxler and played down reports that Kylian Mbappé gets a say on PSG players and transfers.

“I can only laugh about that,” said Wittmann. “We are in contact with the club. You hear the same rumour every year, Julian has just extended. It’s all part of the business but Julian can handle it. He has a great relationship with Kylian but I think it’s a myth that he puts the team together.”

L’Équipe reported in April that Draxler is a player that PSG are looking to move on amid interest from Bundesliga clubs.

Draxler (28) signed a contract extension last year and still has two-years remaining on his current deal.

The former Schalke and Wolfsburg playmaker has played just 861 minutes of football across 24 games in all competitions this season, scoring two and creating two.

Speaking in March when on international duty with Germany, Draxler said that he “needs more game time,” which is even more important in a World Cup year.
