RB Leipzig’s Marco Rose on Celtic’s Japanese players: “They have a great mentality and can really play football.”

Speaking ahead of RB Leipzig’s Champions League tie against Celtic on Wednesday night, head coach Marco Rose praised Ange Postecoglou’s side and the way they play football.

“You have to say that it is very fun to watch Celtic, especially their Japanese players. We also explicitly noted this in our preparation. It is already really striking how these boys can shape the game.

“They are small, lively and particularly in one-on-one situations extremely unpleasant to play against in one-on-one situation – they also have a great mentality and can really play football. They can decide the game with their actions alone,” said Rose.

“All in all, Celtic have a very exciting but most importantly very clear way of playing. Similarly to us, they try to play actively, play offensive football, and to put their opponent under pressure. The team is very well-prepared and very hard-working. Ange Postecoglou has done a really good job at a great club.”

RB Leipzig are bottom of Group F after losing against Shakhtar Donetsk and Real Madrid.
