RB Leipzig have no intention of selling Chelsea target Joško Gvardiol

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have made a new attempt to sign Joško Gvardiol which includes Timo Werner heading to RB Leipzig on loan.

However, with four-years remaining on his current deal, RB Leipzig have no intention of selling the 20-year-old Croatian defender this summer.

Chelsea are also interested in Leicester City’s Wesley Fofana but another option for the Premier League side is Benjamin Pavard. Sport1 reported on Saturday morning that Pavard was offered to Chelsea and Manchester United. The Frenchman’s future at Bayern also remains unclear – head coach Julian Nagelsmann wants to keep him but if they receive a suitable offer, Hasan Salihamidžić & Co. may decide to sell.

Earlier this month, Manchester City also showed an interest in RB Leipzig’s Gvardiol, who played 46 games across all competitions for the Bundesliga club last season. The Croatian achieved the most amount of minutes than any other Bundesliga player under the age of 21 in 2021/22.
