Predicted Union Berlin and Borussia Dortmund starting XIs on Super Sunday

Bundesliga leaders Union Berlin host Borussia Dortmund on Sunday afternoon at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei. With four points separating the two teams, this already seems like an important must win game for BVB should they wish to challenge for the league title this season.

Urs Fischer has his entire squad available for Sunday’s game. With the best defence in the Bundesliga, conceding just six in nine games, we can expect Union Berlin to remain difficult to break down with their low block and a back five.

As for Borussia Dortmund, Edin Terzic stated in his pre-match presser that Marco Reus is in contention to start after an ankle injury against Schalke kept the 33-year-old out since the end of last month. Thomas Meunier also missed their Champions League game against Sevilla in midweek but should be fit enough to feature. Marius Wolf and Anthony Modeste also didn’t travel with the squad to Berlin.

Kicker predict that Union Berlin and Borussia Dortmund will field the following starting XIs.

Union Berlin: Frederik Rønnow – Timo Baumgartl, Robin Knoche, Diogo Leite – Julian Ryerson, Rani Khedira, András Schafer, Janik Haberer, Niko Gießelmann – Sheraldo Becker, Jordan Siebatcheu.

Borussia Dortmund: Gregor Kobel – Thomas Meunier, Mats Hummels, Nico Schlotterbeck, Raphael Guerreiro – Jude Bellingham, Emre Can – Karim Adeyemi, Julian Brandt, Donyell Malen – Youssoufa Moukoko.
