Predicted Bayern Munich and Freiburg starting XIs

Bayern Munich (5th) host Freiburg (2nd) at the Allianz Arena this evening, with a kick-off scheduled for 7.30pm local time – just two points separate the teams.

Throughout the week, it’s been touch and go as to whether Manuel Neuer would be fit enough to play for Bayern Munich after missing their Champions League game against Viktoria Plzeň on Wednesday. Julian Nagelsmann yesterday confirmed that Neuer would be out of today’s game against Freiburg with pain still in his shoulder.

Jamal Musiala has recovered from Covid-19 and returned to training. Unlikely to start, Nagelsmann did state in his presser that he may feature off the bench. Alphonso Davies also returns to the squad following a cranial bruise picked up Der Klassiker against Borussia Dortmund last weekend.

BILD predict the following starting XIs for Bayern Munich vs Freiburg

Bayern Munich: Sven Ulreich – Benjamin Pavard, Dayot Upamecano, Matthijs de Ligt, Alphonso Davies – Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka – Serge Gnabry, Leroy Sané, Sadio Mané – Thomas Müller.

Freiburg: Mark Flekken – Kiliann Sildillia, Philipp Lienhart, Matthias Ginter, Christian Günter – Maximilian Eggestein, Nicolas Höfler – Ritsu Doan, Jeong Woo-yeong, Vincenzo Grifo – Michael Gregoritsch.
