Peter Bosz and Domenico Tedesco are possible options to become Stuttgart’s next coach

After Stuttgart relieved Pellegrino Matarazzo of his duties on Monday afternoon following a defeat to Union Berlin, BILD report that Peter Bosz and Domenico Tedesco are two of five candidates to replace the American.

Matarazzo has won just three games in this calendar year and sitting 17th in the Bundesliga after a winless start, club officials didn’t trust the 44-year-old to win 10 of the remaining 25 league games to avoid relegation. Last season, Stuttgart avoided relegation on the final day after a win against FC Köln.

In the press release, VfB didn’t name a successor but per BILD‘s report, they expect a coach to be appointed before their Bundesliga game against Bochum on Saturday.

Sacked by Lyon on Sunday, Bosz was dismissed following their 1-1 draw against Toulouse on Friday night, which already leaves them 12 points behind leaders PSG after just 10 games.

On September 7, Tedesco was also relieved from his duties at RB Leipzig following a 4-1 defeat against Shakhtar Donetsk in their opening fixture of this season’s Champions League. The 37-year-old led Schalke to runners-up in the Bundesliga in the 2017/18 Bundesliga season.

Per BILD‘s report, other candidates include Gerardo Seoane (dismissed by Bayer Leverkusen last week and replaced by Xabi Alonso), Sebastian Hoeneß and Adi Hütter.
