Omar Richards set to join Nottingham Forest

Bayern Munich defender Omar Richards is set to join Nottingham Forest, according to Florian Plettenberg.

The newly-promoted Premier League side have been very active in the transfer window this summer and closing in on the signing of English left-back for a fee of around €10m-€12m.

Richards only joined Bayern Munich last year from English Championship side Reading. Since his move to Germany, the Englishman has struggled for playing time in one of Europe’s most competitive squads.

Last season, Richards only achieved 17 competitive appearances for the club.

It’s clear that Richards will want to play regular football, something that he won’t get at Bayern when competing with Alphonso Davies.

Prior to the deal, Bayern were open about selling Richards if the right price was offered and the defender agreed to the sale.

Richards will become the latest player to switch from the Bundesliga to Nottingham Forest after they confirmed the signing of Taiwo Awoniyi last week from Union Berlin and Moussa Niakhaté from Mainz.
