Oliver Kahn on Robert Lewandowski: “I think he should know what he has at Bayern Munich.”

Speaking exclusively to Sport1, Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn has responded to comments made by Robert Lewandowski regarding his future at the Bundesliga champions.

“I can’t tell you why Robert has chose this path,” said Kahn. “Public statements like that don’t get you anywhere. Robert became the world’s best footballer here twice in a row. I think he should know what he has at Bayern. Appreciation is not a one-way street.”

The 33-year-old striker is pushing for a transfer away from Bayern Munich this summer as he enters the final year of his contract.

During a press conference whilst on international duty with Poland, Lewandowski said: “One thing is certain, my story at Bayern Munich is over.”

Lewandowski has a preference to join Barcelona but Bayern remain adamant that he will remain at the club next season as he enters the final year of his contract.
