Freiburg goalkeeper Mark Flekken has ruled out leaving the Bundesliga club this summer but would one day like to play for a top European club.
“I would like that but that’s not an issue now,” Flekken told Kicker. “I have a contract here, I feel good and with the World Cup in the winter, you have to be sure you play if you change [clubs]. I’ve worked hard for myself here and I also have to prove it every week.
“I really like Freiburg and if we play in Europe, that would be a plus.”
Flekken signed a long-term contract in 2020 and has established himself as Freiburg’s number one this season. The 28-year-old has since played his first game for the Netherlands.
