Marcus Thuram absent from Borussia Mönchengladbach training, Alassane Plea returns

Marcus Thuram missed Borussia Mönchengladbach training on Tuesday with a calf problem and it’s questionable as to whether the Frenchman will be fit enough to play against Werder Bremen.

Speaking about the situation, head coach Daniel Farke told Bild: “It’s nothing muscular and we shouldn’t be overly dramatic. We hope that he will soon be back on the training ground.”

Thuram (25) has started the season in excellent form with six goals and three assists in eight games across all competitions for Die Fohlen this season, beating last season’s tally.

In other news, Alassane Plea has returned to training three weeks after an adductor injury. Farke added: “Lasso was able to do the warm-up, sprints and the passing exercises again and everything looked fine. If the body shows no reaction, he may be able to be fully involved again on Wednesday.”

After seven games, Borussia Mönchengladbach find themselves in sixth with 12 points.
