Manuel Neuer and Leon Goretzka available for Bayern Munich following Covid-19 infection

On Tuesday both Manuel Neuer and Leon Goretzka returned to training for Bayern Munich after they had to leave the German national team camp due to a COVID-19 infection.

Neuer and Goretzka missed both Germany’s 1-0 loss to Hungary in Leipzig as well as their 3-3 draw with England in London, but they will now be available for Bayern Munich’s game at home to Bayer Leverkusen on Friday.

According to Kicker, they were joined by other players who had already returned from their international duty. This included: Matthijs De Ligt, Ryan Gravenberch (Netherlands), Dayot Upamecano, Benjamin Pavard (France), Marcel Sabitzer (Austria) and Josip Stanišić (Croatia).

Kingsley Coman was also at Säbener Straße on Tuesday but trained individually as he returned from his muscular injury.

The return of Neuer and Goretzka will be a positive one as Bayern look to turn around their recent poor form. Julian Nagelsmann’s side are fifth and five points behind leaders Union Berlin.
